The feet
Our actions & our advice
Blisters
and other lesions
around of
the foot are
very common.
Blisters account for 33 to 74% of stage race injuries with 5% risk of a severe infection.

Although generally of a minor nature, plantar skin problems can have serious and detrimental effects on running performance. Participants in ultra-endurance events must be educated and prepared to prevent and treat their own blisters.
We fund medical studies
dedicated to this problem in sport
to better prevent & act.

- Blisters are extremely common in multi-stage ultra-marathon races. They are mainly located on the toes and the severity of the pain increases with the duration of the race. The prophylactic measures studied included type of sock, antiperspirant, lubricant, talc powder and adhesive tape, but there is no clear evidence of their effectiveness.
