Sudden death strikes 1/50,000 athletes worldwide, aged 12 to 35, each year. Brutally affecting people who appear to be in excellent health, it is still poorly understood. 93% of cases take place in front of witnesses, but only 1/3 of the people affected benefited from an immediate resuscitation.
Cardiac problems and more particularly sudden cardiac death concern us all. Having first aid training is an essential recommendation.
• Notify the emergency services.
• Perform a cardiac massage as part of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Implement a defibrillator.
We must advance in our research to better understand the triggers, to propose solutions.
The external defibrillator doubles the chances of survival in the event of sudden cardiac death.
We train healthcare professionals and organizers to better prevent risks. We study with you the problems you have, and offer recommendations to better manage these risks.
We need your donations,
to bring scientists to ultra-athletes,
to better understand and fight against the risks.
We are an Endowment Fund,
to support ultra-sport
& better protect athletes.
